複合材料積層板在油壓夾具室的拉伸測試
對於航太複合材料，獲得精確的、可重複性和最大限度的測試數據需要有精確的負載應變和可重複的測試條件。對於此類剛性試樣，為了測試結果的波動最小化並獲得最好的數據，很有必要選用具有精確的操作程序、剛性在各個方向上都盡可能足夠大的測試機，並附帶有動力的夾具，保證都以相同的方式夾持每個測試的每一個試樣。NADCAP、Airbus、GE 和其它相應標準做測試時更是如此。目前可適用這些測試的標準包括 ASTM D3039、D5083、D5766、EN 2561、EN 2597、prEN 6035、ISO 527-4、ISO 527-5 和 AITM 1-0007 等標準。
在高溫和低溫環境中進行這些拉伸測試是很常見的，這樣的測試需要一個環境溫箱。這些綜合要求需要滿足剛性、校準、重複性和非常態環境測量，這些要求需要圖中所示的系統配置：一台高荷重的落地型機架系統（100 KN 或 250 KN 載荷），以及伸出的油壓夾具。這種方式中，夾具的油壓動力驅動部分在環境溫箱的外部，而夾頭的夾持試樣的夾持部分在環境溫箱內，這種技術保證了試樣在整個長度上都在測試溫度環境中，使試樣在測量長度方向上的熱梯度最小化。
夾具透過 AlignPro 校準裝置精確校準，該裝置可使夾具在無負載和負載情況下都可以進行角度和同心度的精確調整。校準的檢驗使用一個應變式校準感冊器（現有的感測器符合不同的標準，例如 NACAP AC7101 和 AC7122/1）
該配置允許在溫度在 -70°C～+350°C (-94°F to +662°F) 的範圍內測試。
在可應用的溫度範圍內使用夾式延伸計、貼式延伸計（通過測試設備的應變通道記錄應變）、或影像延伸計（通過環境溫箱前面的光學窗口）測量應變。
